ActorAgeCheck has switched to an ongoing rollout of improvements. That is, improvements are rolled out one-by-one when they are production ready, rather than waiting for a full release like we have done in the past. More improvements will continue to be rolled out over time as we move towards the next major revision of the site. A non-exhaustive list of improvements are available below:
- Social media profiles have been added to most movies, TV shows, and person pages
- Image loading performance has been greatly improved and work continues to make it even more performant
- Suggested frame highlighting logic on movie, TV show, and actor pages has been re-written and is now primarily handled on the client side. This aligns with the deprecation of duplicate page content and has better compatibility with our caching system
- Search autocomplete improvements
- The presence of duplicate pages has been eliminated, ensuring only one page per person, per movie, and per TV show
- Previous URL schemes that resulted in duplicate pages (e.g. /movie/actor-name/id) have been deprecated and result in an HTTP 301 response
- Expect deprecated URL schemes to disappear completely at some point in the future
- Canonical links have been added for pages that modify their content based on query parameters
- The canonical version of the site is now non-www
- Improved ticket system
There are more changes not listed here; however, this blog post is intended primarily to inform users on the ongoing rollout of improvements. The content update form and contact form should be made available in the near future.
Thanks for visiting and working with us to improve the website!
